Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is a Life Group? Expand...
Life Groups are smaller clusters of people who are pursuing spiritual growth together in 3 major areas:
  • Knowing God - Growing in their personal relationship with God
  • Knowing Each - Other Developing and deepening friendships with each other
  • Serving the World - Reaching out to others beyond the group

2. Who are Life Groups for? Expand...
Whether you’re brand-new to Liquid or you’ve been coming for years, a Life Group is a great next step for anyone who wants to grow in their relationship with God and others through relationships.

3. What is a typical Life Group meeting like? Expand...
Each Life Group is unique, but generally all groups have some social time with snacks and conversation up front, followed by a time of study and prayer. The meeting will last somewhere around 1 &1/2 to 2 hours.

4. What will we study? Expand...
When a group first starts out, you will follow a study guide curriculum written by Pastor Tim & Tom that will be based on Liquid's Sunday messages. After that, your group will decide together what to study next from a list of approved curriculum.

5. How often will we meet? Expand...
Life Groups meet on a weekly basis.

6. How long will my group last? Expand...
All groups complete one full study together (anywhere from 5-10 weeks). After that, you’ll meet socially with your group members and decide together whether you’d like to continue on as a group. If your group does decide to go on, there are natural on and off ramps built into the life cycle of every group (breaks between studies, Christmas and Summer break, etc.) so you’ll be able to transition out of the group if it’s not the best fit for you, or if your circumstances change.

7. Can I be in more than one Life Group? Expand...
While you are certainly not locked into a group forever, it’s important that you commit to attending only one Life Group. If you would like to check out a different group, we have designated on and off ramps every few months for you to make those transitions.

8. I’m new to this whole church/God thing… is this the right place for me? Expand...
Groups are a great place to grow spiritually through relationships, but if you’re new to our church or investigating the Christian faith, we’d encourage you to check out our Starting Point 101 Class as well. Starting Point is a safe, conversational small group class where you can meet friends, ask questions and explore faith. CLICK HERE to email Lucy Abrantes, our Life Group Administrator, to find out when classes run.

9. Where will the group meet? Expand...
Groups meet in people’s homes or in public places like Starbucks, Panera, Barnes & Noble, etc. If you’re interested in leading a group in your home, CLICK HERE to fill out a Lead a Life Group Interest form.

10. What about childcare? Expand...
Each individual group is responsible for deciding how to handle childcare needs. Some options are:
  • Have parents arrange for sitters on their own and attend the group without children
  • Chip in together for a sitter who watches the kids in a different room while your group meets
  • Group members take turns watching the kids each week
